Tenth Anniversary Season of the Avoca Main Street Farmers Market Opens June 5, 2024

Avoca Main Street Farmers Market Prepares to Celebrate 10th Anniversary Season

The Avoca Main Street Farmers Market will return to North Elm Street on June 5, 2024 and continue every Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. until September 25, 2024. The 2024 season marks the tenth anniversary of the Avoca Main Street Farmers Market, which began in 2014 with a one-month October “trial” market which led to a full season in 2015 and beyond. The market will once again be featuring fresh local produce, baked goods, honey, fresh cut flowers, homemade soaps, crafts, and prepared food truck meals from farmers, food producers, and local artisans. The Avoca Public Library will offer family programming and the market will feature musical performances and other all-ages entertainment. For the kick-off evening of June 5, the first 200 customers will also receive some special 10^th Anniversary merch.

 

The farmers market brings residents and visitors out into the Main Street of town, keeping their dollars local. Amber Mohr, Avoca Main Street Director, says “as an economic device, farmers markets are an excellent way for farmers and food producers to test their products on the market and establish a customer base for a viable business.”

Market Manager Linda Schumacher adds, “In celebration of our tenth year, we want to thank all our customers and vendors for supporting us and making our Farmers Market such a success. We’re always striving to maintain a variety of vendors and to always to increase customer engagement experiences, especially for this ten-year anniversary. Keep checking our social media and website, because there will be a lot of surprises this year!”
